2006 McManis Pinot Noir

Recommended by East Beach Wine, this was an excellent value for $11 and surprising as this is their first Pinot Noir.
The 2006 Pinot Noir is medium ruby in color. A layer of hazelnut, which is contributed from oak, accompanies aromas of ripe cherries and plums. Rich fruit flavors with hints of milk chocolate linger in the elegant finish.

I am not a red wine drinker, I like the soft fruity stuff! A friend who is a sommelier had a couple private cases which he opened in frustration trying to find a red I would like. Bingo! The McManis Pinot Noir is amazing! I absolutely love it, so much so that I ordered a case from a local wine store. Unfortunately the 2006 is no longer available, so I am waiting for the 2007 to be in distribution the end of April 2008. Hopefully McManis does an incredible job with the 2007 vintage. I am anxiously waiting!
